Make very sure you know what you're doing when you take the bus. This is a hint that I have a bad bus story. This morning I had to leave home late because the people who installed our new wood floors came back to do some finishing up. They didn't have the right stuff again!! *SIGH!*. Fine, so they have to come back after they order the right stuff. Whatever. So I'm already running behind and I know I'm going to miss that #41 bus. I'm thinking the good news is, I can catch the #30 bus that the woman at the parking office said comes after the #41 and makes the same stops. I'll catch that one. I get on the #30 and I instantly knew this was a bad thing when it started heading AWAY from campus. Maybe it will make a U-turn. Nope. Crap. I tap the woman on the shoulder in front of me and ask her where this bus is going and she tells me Scripps Ranch. CRAP! I have several options. *Just stay on and it will eventually take me back to UTC where I can then wait for the next #41. *Get off the bus and call Greg to come get me. *Cry. I got off and called Greg when I saw a gas station. I didn't want to get off at any ole stop and have to hunt for a pay phone...I knew the gas station would have one. Of course I was all the way in Mira Mesa by now. He came and got me and took me to work. So I learned my lesson....only take a bus with the #41 on it. Now, what makes me really mad is, why did that F***ing bus driver let me on! My pass is only good to UCSD! And the sticker I show him is on my campus ID card, so it clearly isn't some kind of free SD Transit bus pass. He should have said that pass was no good for that bus!!! Why in the world he let me on I'll never know. Errrr. It's been a wonderful morning. posted by Kitty Tuesday, June 17, 2003
