A Day In The Life Of A Cat

When I Die

I could come back as a cat
But maybe I'll be a tree
Standing tall and strong in Central Park
I'd people watch all day

In the winter I'd be bare and gray
Beautiful in some eyes
In the summer I'd be full and green
Providing a shady spot beneath me

If I'm lucky, my trunk will display hearts and initials
The artwork of lovers
Years later they'd return and be happy to find me
I'd smile at the sky as they lovingly touch me
Tracing the heart around their initials

Or maybe I'll be a cat
We'll have to see
Until then
I'll just be me
