Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

A Chilling Experience

This probably isn't what you think it's about.

When I was young, I'd say about 10 or so, I had a routine I did every time it rained.

This will tell you little bit about the kind of kid I was.

I loved the rain...still do. My Mom had this cement laundry tub in the garage that was about 2 feet deep and about as wide. This cement sink was like an ice cube when it was cold. When it would rain, I'd find a rock, place the rock in the bottom of the sink, turn the hot water on. I'd let the water trickle out and down onto the rock. Then I'd put my chilly hands down in the sink and the hot water would spatter off the rock onto my hands and the lower part of my arms. I'd get goosebumps. As soon as my hands and arms were totally wet, it wasn't that great anymore because they had heated up and the chilling experience was finished.

If it wasn't raining too hard, I'd sit with the garage door up on a towel and let the rain sprinkle just on my bare feet. Sometimes the wind would blow and my legs would get a sprinkle, too....goosebump city!

Hey, what can I say ~ I had to entertain myself!

Try this someday. Sit in your tub and turn the shower on...but not full blast. Don't sit directly in the stream of water ~ sit under the spay of water and you'll get this light rain of hot water on you. Inch your toes into the hot streaming water and feel the chill! It's a waste of water, so don't sit there like that for every long :-)

I would wrap you in my thin white arms, we'd sit and watch the stars die.
