Jesus and the Caveman

There are these two guys who ride the shuttle almost every day and one looks like the son of the Holy Father and the other looks like a cast member from Planet of the Apes.

This guy is the perfect modern Jesus. The hair and the face are spot on. He always has sandals on...even when it rains. Pretty nice feet for a guy :-) His tattered jeans look comfortable....it's possible he has the same pair on everyday. One day he had on a white gauzey shirt that laced up the front ~ it was very Jesus-esque. I had to sit across from him that day and I could not stop looking at him! I'm pretty sure he didn't notice because he's always reading. The sandals and a book are present every time I see him. He has an unusual way of holding a book...even when he has to stand. It's laid open in one hand, and his other hand is either holding the bar if he's standing or in his lap if he's sitting down. Nothing seems to faze him. The shuttle can come to a slamming halt and the book is still in hand and he's still reading. The shuttle drivers blast the radio and drive like they are late for an interview, but it's as if he's in a quite library with nothing around to disturb him. Very interesting. One of these days I expect him to get on the shuttle with a tool belt slung around his hips and a gold goblet in his hand.

The Caveman
He looks gentle but is a large guy ~ broad shoulders, big head, long arms, 6'2"ish. Mostly what makes me think caveman when I see him is his head. He's got a really big forehead, a big wide mouth that protrudes slightly, and sunk in eyes. One good thing is, he has nice teeth rather than caveman teeth....that would be tragic. His hair is long and very curly. He pulls it back into a ponytail....but it ends up being more of a....well.....rounded puff. Something else that adds to the look is his dazed expressions ~ I suspect he is stoned. I see him on the way home, so maybe at 4:20 he meets up with some friends and then jumps of the shuttle at 5:30. Thankfully he doesn't dress in animal skins or wield a club around on the shuttle. I shouldn't say that....it's just the kind of thing that happens when I'm around.

So that's it. Two of the more interesting shuttle riders. There are plenty of others, but I'll save them for another day :-)
