Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

Missing It

I'm suddenly missing my longer hair. Over the last few days I've been wishing my hair wasn't so short. I guess it's been about 8 months now that I've had the new style that keeps ends just touching the tops of my shoulders. I liked it and everyone tells me it's a cute style on me, but it's time to go back to the longer length. Greg will be happy to hear this since he likes it better long...he has a thing for long blonde hair :) The growing out period just sucks tho. There will be a good couple of months where my hair will just look terrible. Oh joy!

Leded or unleaded

Something made me think of this woman I worked for many years ago. Her name was Lea. She had this full head of glossy black hair that was always nicely styled. She was spanish ~ like a lot of spanish ladies, she was always "dressed". What I mean is, she always walked out of the house looking good....high heels, nice clothes, hair and make-up done....the whole nine yards. She'd sit in her office and do crossword puzzles, make phone calls....wasn't into doing much of the work around the office. I'd catch her touching up her make-up after lunch since she never closed her door. One day I noticed she was doing her eye brows...... with a pencil! I kid you not, she got the tip of the pencil wet with her tongue and then did her brows. Turns out this is how she did her brows all the time....with a soft leaded pencil swiped on her tongue. This can't be a good thing. I asked her if she knew she could get lead poisoning from doing that, and she laughed as if my suggestion was utterly crazy. I wonder how much lead she had in her blood stream!?
