Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

A True King

Rev. Mary Jo Smiley recalls what it was like to listen to Rev. King at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery Alabama where he got his first job:

“You sat there in awe. You understood every word. He used words that maybe you never heard before, but somehow you knew what they meant. And, you felt a closeness to him as he spoke…as if he were speaking directly to you.”

That does something to me….makes me mutter “wow” to myself. I can imagine he was something like Maya Angelou. Those who heard him speak should consider it a gift and we all should take time to remember why today is a holiday.
