Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

God, I'm tired. I didn't sleep well because I watched one of those Life In The ER type shows last night. It was called Maternity Ward....women giving birth. All the cases were complicated in some way. It was a bit depressing. If it were just a show about healthy babies one right after another, that would be a little dull. I should know better than to watch stuff like that because I'm an emotional person who cries at weddings and movies, but I was just so curious and kept watching to see what would happen. It's all real life and by the end of the show you find out how each case turns out. This one baby was just the sweetest looking baby ever. You can't say that about very many new born babies....they are kinda....well....not too cute right out of the oven. But this one was cute and had the best disposition! It was something about the way she was so alert and she just seemed happy. Most newborns have that "deer caught in headlights" look about them that I don't think goes away for a few weeks. I suppose I can understand...being born has got to be really loud and scary. But anyway, this cute one had lots of issues...big time issues. Just *one* of her problems was that her bladder was outside her body. I know, I don't understand either and I was watching the show. It's rare. So she had to have surgery to put it inside and to also fix her pelvis which was not shaped correctly. They put her in a little pink body cast and I just felt so bad for her. Poor thing could not have felt very good, yet she looked happy as a clam. And back to my original point ~ I didn't sleep well because that show made me sad :(

Ladies, check out
sephora.com! Cool stuff if you like to order online. A lot of the stuff they sell you can get at local stores, but if you don't have time or whatever, this is a good place to browse.

Okay, I think we all need to read this book. Mark T. Sullivan seems a very interesting person. I heard an interview with him and they talked about his book called "The Serpent's Kiss". How scary is that title! It's a murder mystery that takes place IN SAN DIEGO. He used to live here back in 1986 when he worked for the Union Tribune. During the interview he said if you live in San Diego, you'll know exactly where some of these events take place because he uses real landmarks. But apart from that, it just sounds like a really interesting story. He'll be signing books at Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore in Clairemont tonight at 7pm. I'm half tempted to go because, not only does the book sound good, but that bookstore sounds interesting, too. Here is a review of his book and a link to his website.

Have a great day!
