I didn't post Friday so I'm posting today! Places I'd Like To Stay Before I Die I've started making a list of these things. Not that I think I'm going to die soon or anything, but I figure I better start making the list so I can get busy making the plans to get to these places. I won't list them all ~ I'll just list the two new additions. The Wilard Hotel ~ 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue The address alone should clue you into why I way to stay there. It has so much history and is really close to all the things I want to see in Washington. Some of the rooms have views of the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Smihsonian and the Library of Congress. I really want to stay there...it is luxury at it's best. Here are a few of the standard things you can expect to find in your room *Bathroom telephone *Voice mail *Internet & E-mail hook-ups *In Room Movies *Nintendo *Individual climate control *Bathrobe *Minibar *Laundry and valet service *Complimentary newspaper *Complimentary shoe-shine I'd take my best shoes and get that shoe-shine. I'm sure you can buy the robes...but I suppose they are $200 each or something crazy like that. Hold onto your set for the nightly room rate: $340. But I bet it's worth it. These rooms are *BEAUTIFUL*. And I want to stay there more for the history of it....so many famous people have been there. Presidents have had dinner in The Wilard Room...it has the prestigious AAA 4-Diamond award. Gotta go stay there. Start saving, Greg. Elbow Beach Hotel - Bermuda's South Shore Again, it's location. Classic beach resort that's kicked up a notch. On their private beach, they have a cottage that looks like pure luxury. Part of the reason I don't like going into the water here in SD is because you can't see what's in the water. I'd go in water there. I think I'd turn into a fish! Who would not want to swim in crystal clear warm water and then bake in the sun? I'd be a bronze beauty, too. Yup, I'd forgo the sun screen and actually let myself get a tan. And the sand is pink...not white. How cool is that!! Oh, and not only do you get a robe, you get slippers, too. Maybe I get too excited over little things...but keeps me young and says I'm not too snobby to enjoy simple things. Depending on when you go, room rates are from $200 - $575 per night. The cottages are from $600 - $1300 per night. So like I said Baby, start saving. posted by Kitty Saturday, July 26, 2003
