Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

Confused

I'm really confused about something. I was watching a show this morning and the host of the show says to her guest "I've never used my stove! I'm not even sure I know how!" She says she doesn't cook. Then the guest laughs and they got back to the original subject.

But wait.....huh!?

How do you never use your stove? Even most single guys and girls make a box of mac 'n cheese on the stove. What is this woman eating? Frozen dinners, popcorn, and take out? Sorry, I just can't imagine this.

If you have never used your stove....go make this. Cooking is fun and it's better than take out and frozen dinners. And please, use the anchovies. People have this fear of them and it's silly. When they are cooked this way, the flavor changes totally ~ no fishy taste at all! They dislove into nothing and just add a salty nutty taste. If you try it and I'm wrong, I'll eat an uncook tin of them. That should prove it right there, because right out of the tin, they are icky.

Linguini with garlic sauce

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 to 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tin flat fillet of anchovies, drained, 6 or 7 fillets
1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 cup dry white wine
1 pound linguini
Lots of black pepper and some coarse salt

Start your pasta. Heat a large deep skillet over medium heat. Add extra-virgin olive oil, 4 turns of the pan in a slow stream, red pepper flakes, garlic and anchovies and cook until anchovies melt into the oil. Add thyme and wine. Reduce wine 1 minute. Add stock. Drain pasta and add to skillet. Toss with sauce 2 to 3 minutes, until pasta has absorbed some of the sauce and flavor. Add pepper and salt, to your taste and serve with bread for mopping up the yummy juices.

Delish!
