Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

Wanna See My Web Cam?

Now, now....don't get too excited...this is soooo not what you are thinking it is.

First, some background information. I don't like lizards, grasshoppers or whales. I have a lizard story, but it's long and gross and I get kinda flinchy just thinking about it. Someday I'll tell the story.

Grasshoppers....how can you like a grasshopper? You know, those huge ones that have really bad sense of jumping direction and always end up hitting you in the leg or arm. I hate those. And why is it the stupid lizards don't munch on those? They would not have to eat for a week! People always tell me I should be thankful I have lizards around because they eat the bugs....yeah, whatever.

Whales...they scare the hell out of me. I have this reoccurring dream that I'm in this room that has metal walls and a big metal door...and it's wet, like it's been full of water. So turns out there is an orca on the other side of the door watiting to "get me" when I come out. I have a peep hole in the door and I can't see him, but I know he's out there. I check all 100 locks on the door to make sure I'm safe and secure and then....I hear something and I turn around. There he is....suddenly in the room with me. This 60 foot, how-many-ever-ton orca lookin' at me. Frantic, I try and get all the locks unlocked, but it's just like in the movies, your fingers can't work fast enough and the locks seem to be jammed when you know the monster is approching. I can "feel" him getting closer to me. It's about this time that I have a heart attack and I wake up.

Okay, so getting to the web cam thing. Yesterday I was web surfing and there it is.....Shamu Cam. For those of you who don't know, Shamu is a killer whale at Sea World. I thouht about it for a minute and then clicked on it. I sat there thinking it must not be working because I didn't see anything. Then I realized I was seeing something because I could tell it was a shot of a enormous tank of water. I could then hear my heart thump harder because I was scared Shamu would suddenly appear in the window with his mouth open and I'd see all his teeth...

As I was moving my mouse to close the window, I see this shadow off in the distance in the tank...getting closer. I have never in my life closed a web page that fast. Why on earth I clicked on the Shamu Cam I will never know....it's one of the very last things I ever want to see. I have a hard enough time looking at the picture of the girl surfing on Shamu's back on the front page. But if you'd like to see it, be my guest.
