Stuck On Sephora

I LOVE Sephora! I could spend an hour in their store and I browse their site all the time ~ I have a wish list a mile long. They came out with their "best of the best" picks, and now my wish list is even longer. I have 3 products from their list, but now I want to try the "Maybe Baby" perfume and the glossing hair cream! I clearly need a sugar daddy to support my Sephora habbit.

Best of
Sephora

See your house from space! I had to use the arrows and move around a little to find my house. I did find it because the guy who lives behind me has a pool and that was easy to spot. The image was taken in 2001 and I can see Greg's old maroon Eclipse parked at the curb :-)

--

I'll admit that I'm not very informed when it comes to current goings-on. I don't watch the news or subscribe to the local newspaper. I figure if something really important happens - I'll hear about it. So, I'll never be all that great at world history and the only wedge I'll get in Trival Pursuit is the pink entertainment one because I keep up on the dirt in Hollywood. Yes, that's right, I'd rather hear more about Brad and Jennifer than unemployment, the space station, corrupt politicians, or law makers full of hot air. I do, however, read the "Oddly Enough" section on Yahoo News. This is where I find some of the bizarre stories I post here. So if Trival Pursuit comes out with a bizarre stories edition, I might have a chance. Today I was reading and I just had to post links to these two stories. I cann't help but be amazed by both of them.

Dude lost his head.

Hollywood Dish

Pamela Anderson has announced she's back "on the market" and is eager to find herself another husband. Pam wants to find herself a spouse following her recent ill-fated engagement to Kid Rock. She says, "I loved being married! I'm definitely on the market. But dating is hard when you have kids. "And around here (in Hollywood), you meet somebody and by the end of the conversation you know all their movies, but you don't know much about them! "But I have my kids and there's no lover better than that. And Tommy -- that's a handful, he's like my third child."

Reminder to Greg: You are married, so don't even think about it!

Pam also has a new book out. To assure it gets plenty of attention, she decided to add a little extra between the pages – a photo of herself completely naked. Yes, Pam stripped it all off for the book, which took just one month to write. But I don't see what the big deal is...she's been in more Playboy's than any other woman, so it's not like this is the only chance of seeing her bare and exposed.

Matt Damon wants to make a porno....and I'd see it in he was in it!! chuckle. No really, he calls it a "character- driven porn movie" with an intellectual plot. Damon says, "My theory on action movies is that they're like porn movies. A porn movie has got really bad writing, really bad acting and really thinly drawn characters. "They have a really stupid scene where they talk and say, 'Hey, I'm the milkman' And you know what is going to happen. "What I want to do is make a character-driven porn movie. It's all going to be about the character and the porn's going to grow out of the characters and serve as character development. "You know how movie titles get porn titles - movies that rip them off? A producer suggested that we do 'The Porn Identity'."

I just think this is so funny. David Hasselhoff needs some help I think. He has taken to serenading fans in the streets with Madonna songs. One girl in Soho stopped him for an autograph and he was more than happy to sign. Then, he looked her straight in the eye, grabbed her hand and launched into 'La Isla Bonita.' The girl was overwhelmed and looked embarrassed. Everyone started clapping and she ran off, head down, without her autograph.

It IS all Kim Cattrall's fault we'll never have a Sex And The City movie! Kim has finally confessed that she backed out of plans for a movie version of the TV show after a fight over money. After Sex And The City ended its six-year run earlier this year, you'll remember producers planned to reunite the four lead characters in a film spin-off. Plans were quickly cancelled amid rumors of a cat fight between Cattrall and co- stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Now Cattrall has admitted she blocked the film, because she wasn't offered enough money. She says, "I wanted all of us to have a piece of something. We all worked for six years, 18 hours a day. "It would be a shame to come back and not reward the actors who had so much to do with shaping the show." Whatever, Kim.

Have a good weekend, all!

Yet another reason for me to be scared of the
ocean. Imagine what they look like when they have years to grow!

But for those of you who still go in the water, you might need something to keep you afloat. These should do the trick. Her name is Sabrina and she's going for the record of the world's biggest boobs. She's already had 13 surgeries to get her 42GGG's, and she's going in for one more to become a 42XXX!

Add A Casket To Your Costco Shopping List

It's true, you can choose from six models in colors including lilac and Neapolitan blue. Each one is priced at $799.99 and made of 18-gauge steel, considered medium weight for caskets. They can be delivered within 48 hours. This is bizarre, but I can see people being very interested in it. My Mom just turned 70 last week and when we go to vist, I have to sit and listen to who in her group of friends is sick, who died, and so on. Older people think about this kind of thing a lot and I could totally see them wanting to be frugal and save money on a casket. Plus, they get to pick it out! How's that for planning. So next time you're at Costco and you are buying bulk ceral, meat and whatever else, check out the casket selection. The lilac one sounds like a winner to me.

Wanna See My Web Cam?

Now, now....don't get too excited...this is soooo not what you are thinking it is.

First, some background information. I don't like lizards, grasshoppers or whales. I have a lizard story, but it's long and gross and I get kinda flinchy just thinking about it. Someday I'll tell the story.

Grasshoppers....how can you like a grasshopper? You know, those huge ones that have really bad sense of jumping direction and always end up hitting you in the leg or arm. I hate those. And why is it the stupid lizards don't munch on those? They would not have to eat for a week! People always tell me I should be thankful I have lizards around because they eat the bugs....yeah, whatever.

Whales...they scare the hell out of me. I have this reoccurring dream that I'm in this room that has metal walls and a big metal door...and it's wet, like it's been full of water. So turns out there is an orca on the other side of the door watiting to "get me" when I come out. I have a peep hole in the door and I can't see him, but I know he's out there. I check all 100 locks on the door to make sure I'm safe and secure and then....I hear something and I turn around. There he is....suddenly in the room with me. This 60 foot, how-many-ever-ton orca lookin' at me. Frantic, I try and get all the locks unlocked, but it's just like in the movies, your fingers can't work fast enough and the locks seem to be jammed when you know the monster is approching. I can "feel" him getting closer to me. It's about this time that I have a heart attack and I wake up.

Okay, so getting to the web cam thing. Yesterday I was web surfing and there it is.....Shamu Cam. For those of you who don't know, Shamu is a killer whale at Sea World. I thouht about it for a minute and then clicked on it. I sat there thinking it must not be working because I didn't see anything. Then I realized I was seeing something because I could tell it was a shot of a enormous tank of water. I could then hear my heart thump harder because I was scared Shamu would suddenly appear in the window with his mouth open and I'd see all his teeth...

As I was moving my mouse to close the window, I see this shadow off in the distance in the tank...getting closer. I have never in my life closed a web page that fast. Why on earth I clicked on the Shamu Cam I will never know....it's one of the very last things I ever want to see. I have a hard enough time looking at the picture of the girl surfing on Shamu's back on the front page. But if you'd like to see it, be my guest.

Shamu Cam

WHY!

What is it about me that attracts weirdos?

I can be walkin' along minding my own bees wax and when out of nowhere, there they are. This does not happen once in a while....it happens all the damn time.

Do you know I've been flashed 5 times? *FIVE TIMES*! Most people don't get flashed once. And I'm talking serious flashing here...the whole nine yards....well, they wish. And, I've told you I see people peeing in public more than anyone else I know. And, of course, there was the guy who "adjusted" himself standing in front one me on the bus. Yeah, that was nice. People wonder why I've become reclusive. I swear, I'm a missing person waiting to happen. Mark my words.

Is it clear that had an encounter with a weirdo today?

It was the janitor in my old office building. When I moved about a month ago, he was one of the things I was so happy to be rid of. There was this one day when he came in to get my trash he got all flustered because he saw my feet. I had sandals on. He became so captivated by my beautiful feet that he wasn't sure who's trash he'd emptied and who's had not been. Needless to say, I kept my feet under my desk after that when he was around.

Well he found the new offices and came for a visit. Suddenly, out of nowhere, there he is at my door. I'm alone down here in the basement of this building and I have weird trash guy at my door.

"Hiiiii. How you doin'" he says in that freaky serial killer way.

I had this new CD playing that Greg burned for me last night and the song that was playing was "Can't Get Enough of Your Love Baby" by Barry White.

*sigh*

So that starts this whole line of conversation about "Oh, you like Barry? He's a very sensual person. I like Barry....oh yeah, I like him".

I turned the song off and said "Yeah, I'm not into that song" then quickly turned the sound off on my Mac because I knew "Sex and Candy" by Marcy Playground and "I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls was also on this CD and, with my luck, one of those would be playing next. THANK GOD I didn't wear my brown sandals today. I was going to, but I could only find one of them and didn't feel like sifting thru my abyss of shoes to find the other. When he finally left, he said he'd be back again soon.

Why? Why do I have to deal with this crap? I don't understand.

Movie Review

This is a very good review of "The Bourne Supremacy" which I saw Sunday and loved. Some of the story is spoiled in the review, so if you want to be surprised, better not read this.

--

'Bourne' a thrill-packed ride
By Paul Clinton
CNN Reviewer
Sequels to big blockbuster action-adventure films don't work when you take the same concept as the original's and throw more money at it to provide bigger explosions and snazzier special effects.

Sequels should stand on their own. "X-Men 2," "Spider-Man 2" and now the sequel to "The Bourne Identity" -- "The Bourne Supremacy" -- do just that, and the studios are reaping the benefits.

"The Bourne Supremacy" -- again starring an unlikely action hero in Matt Damon -- is just as thrilling, edgy and entertaining as the first installment.

In fact, the film's action sequences, including the best car chase ever filmed, are even better. And the movie also delivers a sophisticated espionage thriller showcasing a solid story with a character-driven plot.

Once again based loosely on the popular series of Robert Ludlum's books from the 1980s, this followup film picks up where the first left off.

Jason Bourne (Damon) is still on the run with his lady love Marie (Franka Potente reprising her role from the original). They're living in a small coastal town in India, and Bourne is struggling with a haunted past fueled by splintered nightmares.

Suddenly their underground existence is shattered when a mysterious professional assassin shows up. During their hasty escape, Bourne loses Marie, and he's forced to make good on the threat he made at the end of the first film when he said, "If I even feel somebody behind me, there is no measure of how fast and how hard I will bring this back to your doorstep."

Trust me, he wasn't kidding.

This film takes off like a runaway train, and the momentum never lets up until the very end.

The clock is always ticking fast. Moviegoers experience the rushing sense of being alongside Bourne as he relentlessly tracks down the people trying to kill him.

One of the reasons this sequel is so good is that many of the original players -- both in front of and behind the camera -- are back.

Brian Cox returns as Ward Abbot, a CIA operative; Julia Stiles is back as Nicky, and Gabriel Mann reprises his role as Danny Zorn.

The one major addition to the cast is triple Academy Award nominee Joan Allen as Agent Pamela Landy. Allen has proven again and again that she can hold the screen with an extreme intensity, and her role as Bourne's nemesis adds a lot to the success of this film.

Director Doug Liman stepped down after being at the helm of the first installment, but stayed on for this sequel as an executive producer.

His replacement, Paul Greengrass ("Bloody Sunday"), is more than up to the challenge. His muscular direction, brilliant eye for visuals and creative camera work go a long way in making this sequel as good, or better, than the original. He's created a paranoid thriller that is both intellectually satisfying and hang-onto-your-seat exciting.

Tony Gilroy has again provided a solid screenplay, and Oliver Wood has again brought his extraordinary talents to the screen as the director of photography.

A blockbuster with both style and substance is a rarity, and "The Bourne Supremacy" carries it off in spades.

The action is integrated into characterization and the locations across Europe -- especially Berlin and Moscow -- are used to maximum effect. They add a sense of realism -- and fresh style -- which makes this popcorn movie stand head and shoulders above others in the same genre.

And that car chase, which comes toward the end of the film, will take your breath away. It's even better than the one in "Ronin," which set the gold standard for chase sequences upon its release in 1998.

But in the end, it's the story and the strong central character that makes this film so special. Bourne's journey for atonement, which is the heart and soul of the film, puts a human face on the hyper-macho world of action movies.

Damon is perfect for this part, and you can bet there will be a third film, in what might be a franchise that could be around for some time.

To have style....or not

I think there is a chance I'm turning into one of those people who choose to dress in what is comforting. Not comfortable, but comforting.

Let me explain.

I'm an 80's child. When I see those acid washed jeans with the zippers on the legs and high top Reeboks, I smile at the memories. I would wear those jeans if I could get them on....so perhaps it's a blessing I can't.

A year or two ago, this friend of Greg's was going to have an all 80's birthday party. I got very excited at the prospect of shopping for my 80's party outfit! I ended up getting a black pleated skirt that has two red and black checkered panels and safety pins all over it. It reminds me of something Billy Idol would wear if he had to dress up like a girl. It was a rockin' good outfit. Get it....rockin'....
*snicker*. Okay, okay, so the point of this is, I like this 80's punk rock skirt so much that I wear it.....outside.....were people can see me. Really good thing those jeans don't fit.

I got my Lucky Magazine yesterday. It's the fall preview issue. This is when I realized I might not be embracing the current style. I avoid boot cut jeans even tho they are what everyone is buying. Oh, and the low rise thing....I always feel like I'm tugging to get them up....as if they have slipped down....but they won't "go up". I'm trying to deal with this new style thing I guess. However, you can mark my words on this: I will not wear tweed crop pants with boots. It's on every other page of the magazine. Not gonna happen. I'll wear tweed...maybe. I just don't want to look like Buffy's Watcher.

Anyway, that's me on style.

This is funny, but I would not drive this
truck.

Ever wonder what Keanu Reeves really looks like? You know, when he's just hanging out and not on a movie set....

The first CD pressed in the US was Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA

I'm sitting here at my desk singing with The Boss on my iTunes.

You wanna know why I like him so much? His songs have heart. Every last one of them. They all mean something. I get into that....they touch me deeply. I bet he's an awesome guy....he has to be to.

Human Touch

You and me we were the pretenders
We let it all slip away
In the end what you don’t surrender
Well the world just strips away
Girl, ain’t no kindness in the face of strangers
Ain’t gonna find no miracles here
Well you can wait on your blesses my darling
I got a deal for you right here
I ain’t looking for praise or pity
I ain’t coming ’round searching for a crutch
I just want someone to talk to
And a little of that human touch
Just a little of that human touch
Ain’t no mercy on the streets of this town
Ain’t no bread from heavenly skies
Ain’t nobody drawing wine from this blood
It’s just you and me tonight
Tell me, in a world without pity
Do you think what I’m askin’s too much
I just want something to hold on to
And a little of that human touch
Just a little of that human touch
Oh girl that feeling of safety that you prize
Well it comes at a hard hard price
You can’t shut off the risk and the pain
Without losing the love that remains
We’re all riders on this train
So you’ve been broken and you’ve been hurt
Show me somebody who ain’t
Yeah, I know I ain’t nobody’s bargain
But, hell, a little touch up and a little paint...
You might need something to hold on to
When all the answers, they don’t amount to much
Somebody that you could just to talk to
And a little of that human touch
Baby, in a world without pity
Do you think what I’m askin’s too much
I just want to feel you in my arms
Share a little of that human touch
Feel a little of that human touch
Give me a little of that human touch
