My Fish....Walter
My beta fish, Walter, died Tuesday. He is of the earth now. I could not flush him...that just seems so...I don't know...cold. I buried him in a nice spot under a tree just outside my office. I told someone this and they instantly started making comments: "You know, he will just rot and the bugs will eat him and that stary cat will dig up what's left of him and...blah, blah, blah".
Why do people do that? I mean, I know all that is going to happen so I don't need someone prattling on telling me that my choice not to send him to pipes full of waste just means he'll be eaten by bugs and a stray cat. Whatever people....I know he's dead and only a fish, but a loss is a loss regardless of how insignificant it seems.
In other news...
I noticed the self-portrait I took of Yoda and Chewbacca on my toes has been getting a lot of views lately. It actually took over first place in the most viewed catagory. The previous image in first place was Greg & Devil Cat.
I could not help but be curious at this sudden spike in views, but I just figured since I'm getting a lot of traffic on my pages, it must mean people are taking a closer look at that one. So yesterday I get an email in my Flickr mailbox from a guy who gives me an FYI that he posted a link to this picture in some Star Wars community forum. Ahhhh....now I understand. So that's kind of cool. I looked at the picture again and realized it made very little sense. Why would a woman have Yoda and Chewbacca Pez heads on her toes?! So I posted a little note about what it was for and why I did it so people don't think I'm a looney toones woman with a camera, 3 house cats, and a foot fetish :)
