Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

We're All The Same

The next time you're having a bad hair day....or maybe your pants are not as loose as they were last month....or perhaps you notice you have a pimple....don't think about all the Hollywood types who never seem to have these problems. "The Beautiful People" are not any better than us "Normal People". Sure, they look flawless and perfect, but it's a lie of sorts. I have seen pictures of Britney Spears looking down right bad! I would have never thought that the perfect girl on the perfume commercials could actually have bad skin! But let me tell you, she does. I can honestly say I think my 38 year old skin is in better shape than hers. The reason they look good is because they have things we don't. I'd look great if I had a make-up artist, hair stylist, wardrobe people and a photo/video editor. Case in point:

"...Clean up complexion, soften eye lines, soften smile line, add color to lips, trim chin, remove neck lines, soften line under ear lobe, add highlights to earrings, add blush to cheek, clean up neck line, remove stray hair, remove hair strands from dress, adjust color and add hair on top of head, add dress on side to create better line..."

This is the $1,525.00 invoice for retouching the cover photo of Michelle Pfeiffer, in the December 1990, issue of Esquire magazine. The photo's caption reads, "What Michelle Pfeiffer Needs...Is Absolutely Nothing."

Here are the pictures:

See, we'd all look good in print if we had about $1,600 bucks. Remember that the next time you wish you look like one of the Hollywood types. You might not be getting what you think you're getting.
