Welcome to my blog. In the internet world, I am a little part that exists. Here you'll find recipes, rants, a few history lessons, and general silliness.

Hypothetical

Okay, here we go with one of those questions that makes you think.

The set up: You could be the person who seals the boxes at the Rice Krispies factory, the CEO of a big company, a gas station attendant....whatever. Where you work is not a factor. You work with someone who you consider a "work friend". This is someone who you might eat lunch with now and then and chat with at the water cooler. You don't see this person on the weekends or after work....just a work friend.

The issue: One day the work friend gets sick and months later it comes out that this person needs a new liver. No idea what is wrong with the one they have, they just need a new one. As the moral and good thing to do, everyone you work with gets tested to see if they are a match for a new liver. Look at that....you are the only match! WhooHoo! Or is it WooHoo? The doctor tells you the risks and says he will only tell your work friend you are a match if you are really serious about forking over part of your liver. Once you say yes, you can't turn around and chicken out a week before the surgery.

The question: Would you fork over part of your liver to a work friend? It is well known that the donor undergoes a much longer surgery than the recipient of the new liver does and recovery can be a hard. However, you are in good health and have a very good chance doing just fine.

The decision: Tick tock, tick tock....so you going to do it or are you going to pass on this one?
