Guess what magazine is following in the footsteps of Sports Illustrated with a swimsuit edition? It may be the last magazine you'd think of. National Geographic. When I heard this, all I could imagine was pictures of tribal people all over the world in tiny strips of white cotton fabric. Turns out it's nothing like that. The issue will feature swimsuit styles dating as far back as 100 years. The issue will be a collectors edition (the 4th collectors edition) and will be on news stands Feb. 1st. You can visit them online to see a few of the pictures and also vote which picture you would have picked for the cover. I might have to buy a copy....

Have you ever seen someone and wondered how they left the house looking the way they do? Take a look at Ms. Tara Reid. I have to believe she missed catching a glimpse of herself before walking out of the house in this....getup.

Here's something else. Have you ever seen someone driving a car that is a color a car should *never* be painted? Or they have some kind of bumper sticker that announces something to the general public about them that should probably be kept secret? Maybe they have the new Anna Nicole bobblehead doll on their dash...this is real classy.

Okay, that's all I'll say about the clueless people in the world for today.

Oh wait...one last thing. If you'd wear a dress like that, drive a car the color of the Incredible Hulk, or have the Anna Nicole bobblehead doll - move to Arkansas. You'll have a lot in common with the folks there and make tons of new friends. **wink**

Each time I think about the Raider's loosing the Super Bowl, I smile. I'm a Charger fan, and true Charger fans have a serious dislike for the Raiders. While I watched the game, I noticed how great the stadium looked. The announcers talked about how a beautiful San Diego is and that they could not have asked for a better day to play football. Our city shined and that made me smile, too. Greg smiled when he saw Shania in her little outfit during the half time show. My goodness....a sparkle bra, mini (and mini is a good word for it) skirt, thigh high dancer boots, and a coat right off the set of the Matrix! Paul Tagliabue, the NFL Commissioner, said: "I can't imagine anyone getting up to go to the refrigerator with Shania Twain preforming on the 50-yard line!" - I think he might be right about that.

Only one more game left this season - the Pro Bowl is on this weekend. Are you going to watch it? Were you thinking of a making a tasty snack to munch on during the game? Try the dip recipe below. *Yummmmm*

But first, a recap. The score was Tampa Bay 48 ~ Raiders 21. WooooHooooo!! *doing a happy dance*

Now the recipe :)

Spicy Crab Dip

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/3 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
1/3 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped yellow bell pepper
2 scallions finely chopped
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Dash Tabasco sauce
Salt
Pepper
1/2 cup crabmeat

Combine the cream cheese and mayonnaise. Add bell peppers, scallions and garlic and stir to combine. Add the lemon juice and Tabasco. Mix thoroughly and season with salt and pepper. Stir in the drained crabmeat. Allow to stand for 1 hour before serving. Re-season just before serving.

My first day as a blogger cat . *smile*

Today I entered to win the 2003 dream house from hgtv.com. It's in Florida tho. If I won, I'd have to leave the Golden State and go to....hummm, I wonder what they call Florida? The Orange state? Doesn't sound very aPEELing. *Laugh* You should know now that I make really bad jokes that I think are really funny. I crack myself up on a regular basis!!

Speaking of laughing, here's one of my very favorite jokes.

These 3 strings go into a pub. One of the strings tells the other two to go get a table and he'll get the beer. He walks up to the bar and tells the bartender to give him a pitcher of beer and 3 glasses for him and his buddies.

"We don't serve strings," the bartender tells him firmly.
"Oh...," the string said sadly.

The string walks back to where his buddies are and reports the bad news - "They don't serve strings."

"Wait, wait, wait! *I'll* get the beer!" One of them says getting up.

The second string goes up to the bar and tells the bartender to give him a pitcher of beer and 3 glasses for him and his buddies.

"Look, I just told your friend we don't serve strings!!" the bartender said, getting mad.
"Oh...," the string says timidly and returns to the table.
"Yeah, he's right, they don't serve strings here," he tells them.

The third string rolls his eyes at the other two, "I'll get the beer," he tells them as if it's the easiest thing in the world to do. He gets up and ties himself in a knot. Then he takes a comb out of his pocket and begins to fray himself at the ends. He then walks up to the bar and asks the bartender for a pitcher of beer and 3 glasses for him and his buddies. As the bartender is dispensing beer into a pitcher for the string, he looks over and gives him an inquisitive look.

"Hey, you wouldn't happen to be one of them strings, would you?" the bartender asks.
The string smiles and shakes his head.
"Nope, frayed knot..." the string answers.

Gotta love that joke. Bye for now :)
